Planned Parenthood of Greater New York is removing the name of its late founder, Margaret Sanger, due to the abortion provider’s “harmful connection to the eugenics movement.”

In light of the upheaval in our society over systemic racism, Planned Parenthood decided that the woman upon whose name and vision they stand, is no longer a person or a vision they want to be associated with.  Unfortunately, simply removing a name off a building does not change the culture of death that exits daily within their walls.
You can dress up your logo with pretty pink colors and say you are providing healthcare, but the heart and mind behind their mission is depicted in just one of Margaret Sanger’s quotes:

“We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” ~Letter from Margaret Sanger to Dr. C.J. Gamble, December 10th, 1939

It is not surprising that most Planned Parenthood centers are strategically located in minority communities and are targeting black communities.  In fact, in New York City, where Planned Parenthood is headquartered, more black babies are aborted than are born alive (1,180 abortions for every 1,000 live births).*

In a recent letter sent by the President of Human Coalition, Brian Fisher, he states:

“A Life Issues Institute report indicated in 2017 “mega-centers” targeted women of color. ‘Our research revealed that an alarming 88 percent (22 of 25) target women of color. Disturbingly, 80 percent target Black communities, 56 percent target Hispanic/Latino neighborhoods and 80 percent target one or more colleges. In total, 96 percent (24 of 25) of the mega-centers target women of color, college women, or both,’ it claimed.”
“While admitting the historical roots of the organization is significant, as Rev. Dean Nelson, executive director of Human Coalition Action, and Benjamin Watson, former NFL player and Human Coalition Advisory Board member, the larger problem is that the racism-fueled vision Sanger had is still being carried out in Planned Parenthood clinics today.”

Dr. Alveda King, niece of Rev. Martin Luther King, also shared her thoughts saying that Planned Parenthood removing Sanger’s name off their building is just “window dressing” if they are not willing to stop killing people and harming women. (4:04)

In contrast, the mission and vision of the founders of The Care Center d/b/a Soundview Pregnancy     remains the same as it’s been for 30+ years and is built on a foundation of a belief EVERY life matters because every person is created in God’s image.

Soundview Pregnancy Services is the antidote to Planned Parenthood!  We actually empower women to make healthy, life-giving choices and back them up with education, social services, coaching and material resources that equip these women to be mothers and men to be fathers.   The difference here is that we are not racially or financially motivated by their decisions.  Our vision is to create a culture of life where abortion is unnecessary and unwanted.
